INGHAM COUNTY, Mich. (WILX) - Northbound US-127 is shut down early Wednesday morning due to a semi-truck fire. Authorities responded to the scene by the Kipp Rd exit near Mason shortly before 1:30 a.m.

The fire was started by a tire on the empty semi-truck and the driver was able to detach the tractor from the trailer. No injuries were reported.

The Mason Fire Department told News 10 on scene that the closure would last ‘several hours’ as they clear the debris and trailer from the highway.
