LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The Jefferson County Public Schools (JCPS) board approved to change Echo Trail Middle School's boundary lines.
96 rising sixth-graders from Echo Trail will be rezoned to Crosby Middle School in Middletown, about 8.5 miles away.
"As a fifth grader, you’re starting a new life, a new journey, and just in general, a new you," said rising Echo Trail sixth grader Aubrey Grace Ellis. "Echo trail is the best school that I want."
Echo Trail opened in 2023, and board members say Crosby Middle School is currently at 117% capacity and could reach 133% in the 2026-2027 school year without boundary adjustments.
