DES MOINES, Iowa —

A Des Moines Public Schools official has resigned several weeks after being placed on administrative leave.

Robert Lundin, the chief academic officer of Des Moines Public Schools, is resigning. The school board accepted his resignation during a meeting Tuesday.

Lundin was placed on administrative leave in early October for what was then described as a personnel matter.

A district spokesperson told KCCI the separation was a mutual decision. The effective date of Lundin's resignation is June 30, 2026.
