MUSCATINE, Iowa (KWQC) - A Iowa man is suing the federal government for due process after being detained by Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
Noel Jesus Lopez De La Cruz is a 24-year-old landscaper who came to the United States when he was only two years old. He played soccer and graduated from Mount Pleasant High School.
Despite being in the U.S. for over twenty years, De La Cruz is in the process of being deported to Mexico, a country he’s never known.
“He doesn’t know what happened before to and beyond,” Brianna Thornton, his fiancé said. He grew up here, like all of his memories are here, his friends are here."
Last year De La Cruz was riding to work with a friend when police stopped the car and found a small amount of marijuana. Police let them go, but it wasn’t until this summ
