MONROE COUNTY, MI — The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office Animal Control Division is stepping up enforcement against people abandoning pets following a surge in reports of neglected dogs and cats, particularly in remote areas of Berlin Township.
Animal control officers are investigating several cases of abandoned animals discovered near Roberts and Reaume Road, reported on Nov. 16.
The sheriff’s office announced Nov. 18 that it is working with The Humane Society of Monroe County to pursue charges against those responsible.
