ANN ARBOR — Four games into his Michigan career, Yaxel Lendeborg is still figuring out his role. He’s naturally unselfish on the court. He’s also one of the best players in college basketball. He remembered that during Michigan’s 86-61 win over Middle Tennessee on Wednesday that pushed the Wolverines to 4-0.
“Honestly, these past three games, I can say I was sitting in as like a role player,” he said. “I’ve had just a little bit of reflecting. I didn’t come here to be a role player. I came here to be the man.
“I feel like today I took a step in that direction to showcase that I’m more than just a role player. And I’ve got a long way to go, but from now on I’m going to try to be a little more assertive every game.”
