LAKE CITY, Fla. (WCJB) - Lake City leaders are moving forward with installing speed cameras in all school zones in the city limits.

City Council members unanimously approved using the Flock camera system during their meeting on Monday.

Columbia County already uses a similar system for gunshot detection and license plate reading.

The cameras are expected to be installed sometime in the spring.

City officials say once they are in place, there will be a 30-day grace period where only warnings are given out to drivers.
