LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - The Salvation Army is kicking off its annual Red Kettle Campaign in Lexington to raise funds for folks who may need some extra help this holiday season.
Bell ringing brings more than holiday cheer
The sound of a bell for the Salvation Army means more than just holiday cheer.
“When you put something in the kettle this holiday season, know that it’s going directly to help those in need, and we have a lot of neighbors in need,” said Alex Risen, development manager at the Salvation Army.
The organization is encouraging folks to give what they can, whether it’s monetary donations or a request from an angel tree.
Major David Childs said the need for help in Central Kentucky has increased.
“Because we have that shelter, we can see all the homelessness. We can see the
