It cannot be determined exactly how a much-loved mum, whose body was recovered following a devastating fire at her home in Stockport , died, a coroner has concluded.

The emergency services were alerted to the blaze at the house of 57-year-old Amanda Cox in Reddish in the early hours of Tuesday, March 4 this year, when an ‘explosion’, just before 12.30am, blew her front living room window out.

Fire crews arrived at the scene, on Bradfield Close, under 10 minutes later. By this time, the property was ‘well alight’ and it required multiple fire engines to bring it under control, the hearing was told.

As a result of the blaze, the property suffered ‘extensive and catastrophic damage’, the inquest heard, with a large part of the roof and first floor of the building collaps
