Nearly two months after the Karur tragedy, which claimed the lives of 41 people, actor-turned-politician and Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) chief is likely to hold a public rally on December 4.
The party was forced to suspend its election campaign in Tamil Nadu after the stampede-like situation in Karur.
According to party sources, Vijay is likely to resume his political campaign from Salem. During a recent meeting of the general committee and executive committee of the party, the leaders had urged Vijay to restart his political tour. They had reportedly told the TVK chief that after Namakkal and Karur, he should now reach out to people in Salem, where the actor-politician has a large support base. Reports suggest that Vijay has, in principle, agreed to the request.
