STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Call it Trader Joe’s holiday answer to fruitcake: Jingle Jangle is back.

In the Fearless Flyer circular, the company jokes the name “could be a reference to ’70s Rankin-Bass cartoon characters or lyrics to a cowboy ditty about spurs.” In reality, Jingle Jangle debuted in 2013 as a festive tin packed with chocolate-covered treats — mini pretzels drizzled in white chocolate, quite a bit of chocolate-on-caramel popcorn, broken Joe-Joe’s cookies, red candy-coated chocolate gems, and peanut butter cups.

Over the years Trader Joe’s has added newer riffs to the lineup, including Jingle Jangle Pretzel Twists , Jingle Jangle For Dogs , and bagged Jingly Jangly .
