COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio State football’s Caleb Downs was named a finalist for the Bronko Nagurski Trophy on Thursday. The award is presented annually to the top defensive player in the sport.

Downs, a junior safety, was one of four finalists.

The others are Notre Dame cornerback Leonard Moore, Texas A&M defensive end Cashius Howell and Texas Tech linebacker Jacob Rodriguez.
