BEREA, Ohio -- A Berea woman, 36, faced child endangerment charges after she left her 2-year-old daughter in a car unattended outside Dollar Tree, 40 W. Bridge St.
Someone called police at about 7:30 p.m. Nov. 14 after seeing the child in the parked car. The child was asleep and didn’t appear to be in distress.
The caller said she entered the store at about 7 p.m. and when she came out 15 minutes later, the child was still in the car.
The car’s engine was running, as it had been when the caller first arrived.
When police arrived, they noticed that the car was unlocked and the keys were in the ignition.
About five minutes later, the girl’s mother exited Dollar Tree and walked back to the car.
