ANN ARBOR, MI — Four Michigan colleges are in the top 125 colleges that are the best for future leaders, according to TIME’s Best Colleges for Future Leaders 2026 list released Thursday, Nov. 20.

University of Michigan was ranked No. 11 nationally, above Northwestern University, Cornell University and University of Chicago.

TIME evaluated 4,800 “of the most influential figures shaping U.S. society today,” including policymakers, corporate top dogs, scientists and educators, according to TIME’s methodology webpage .

Leaders were chosen based on their current roles and their paths to the roles, the methodology states.
