MIDDLETOWN – State Police have charged Zenaida Soriano-Rincon of Middletown with manslaughter for leaving her two-year-old toddler in an unventilated car for over eight hours in September.
The child, whose gender was not released, died as a result of temperatures inside the car.
Soriano-Rincon was at work at the time.
The investigation began on September 19 after the unresponsive child was taken to a healthcare facility on Benton Avenue in Middletown and later transported to Garnet Health Medical Center where the death occurred.
The mother was arrested on Tuesday, November 18, arraigned and remanded to the Orange County Jail in lieu of $250,000 bail, $500,000 bond, or $1 million partially secured bond.
The two-month investigation was conducted by the State Police Troop F Major Crimes
