CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KFVS) - Noa Wonnell, 18, of Cape Girardeau, has been sentenced to 10 years in a Missouri prison.

A judge handed down the sentence during a court appearance on November 17. During that appearance, Wonnell entered a guilty plea on the attempted rape charge.

In May, Wonnell was charged with attempted rape after an incident on the Cape La Croix Trail.

Investigators said that Wonnell tackled the female victim to the ground and demanded she perform sexual acts on him. The woman fought back by hitting Wonnell in the groin until she was able to run away.
