FARGO — Local nonprofits are asking for help to make sure every kid gets a Christmas toy this year.
The YMCA of the Northern Sky says 1,400 kids in the region need a gift through its annual Giving Tree program. So far, the organization has received only 80 gifts.
The Salvation Army in both Grand Forks and Fargo also need gifts for their Angel Trees. According to the Grand Forks Salvation Army’s Walmart gift registry, more than 1,200 gifts are left to be purchased. Fargo-Moorhead needs 52 gifts.
The YMCA’s vice president of marketing says they also need more than 500, or 535, volunteer shifts covered.
