Two U.S. Capitol Police officers were taken to a hospital after a small fire in the subway between the Rayburn House Office Building and the U.S. Capitol, according to Capitol Police.

The electrical fire was put out with fire extinguishers before 5 p.m. Thursday.

Two officers went to a hospital for evaluation, police said. No one on the trolley that carries people through the subway was injured.

D.C. Fire and EMS went to the scene to investigate.

All smoke has been cleared and there is no longer a hazard, police said.
