MISHAWAKA, Ind. (WNDU) - AAA released its Thanksgiving travel forecast on Thursday and outlined safety recommendations for travelers during the busy holiday weekend.
The agency predicts Tuesday, Wednesday and Sunday will be the busiest days for travel.
AAA recommends airport travelers arrive at least two hours before their flight. The agency also suggests drivers have their vehicles inspected for battery, tires and fluids before next week.
“If you can leave Monday before Thanksgiving and maybe come back on Black Friday, you’re going to alleviate some of that traffic and congestion that you might experience,” said Molly Hart, a AAA spokeswoman.
AAA encourages air travelers to pack carry-on bags to ensure luggage arrives with passengers, citing recent events impacting airports.
