MOLINE, Ill. (KWQC) — Moline High School has removed doors from all student bathrooms on three floors as the district works to address vaping concerns, officials confirmed to KWQC.

KWQC-TV6 received several viewer tips about the district removing bathroom doors at the school, which officials say is to curb the number of students who have been reported for vaping inside the school.

The door removal affects student bathrooms on the first, second and third floors and will remain in place until a full remodel project begins in summer 2026. The renovation will take two years to complete, meaning doors will be absent until 2028.

Moline-Coal Valley School District officials said the policy applies only to Moline High School and will not extend to other schools in the district.
