NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) — The North Charleston Police Department has arrested a woman following a domestic violence disturbance involving a gun.
Belgica Adegbola, 31, is charged with first-degree criminal domestic violence, according to police.
Officers were dispatched just before 9 a.m. to a home on Montview Road for reports of the suspect and her estranged husband being in an argument, when Adegbola allegedly threatened him with a gun. Police say the husband ran home with his kids before police came to the scene.
Officers learned that Adegbola left the gun downstairs and went to a bedroom upstairs. She was safely taken into custody after a negotiation with officers.
North Charleston Police asked the public to avoid part of the city during the active investigation Friday morning
