COLLETON COUNTY, S.C. (WCSC) — The Colleton County Sheriff’s Office is looking for help finding a suspect in an armed robbery that took place last week.
Deputies responded around 10:15 p.m. Nov. 12 to the Family Dollar on Lowcountry Highway near Bells Crossroads after they received word of an armed robbery.
Witnesses at the scene said they saw a man wearing a long-sleeved green shirt, blue jeans and a red bandana covering his face. The suspect threw a big rock through the front door in order to enter the locked store.
The suspect, who had a gun, made the two employees inside unlock the office and the safe, telling them to put the money into his bag. The suspect ran from the scene with about $4,000.
Deputies are working with agents from the South Carolina State Law Enforcement Division
