KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - Tennessee moved to 5-0 for the third straight season with an 89-60 win over Tennessee State on Thursday night inside Food City Center.

The Volunteers improve to 7-0 all-time against the Tigers. Thursday’s meeting was the first since the 2015-16 season.

Ja’Kobi Gillespie led Tennessee with 17 points. Felix Okpara added 11 points and 8 rebounds in the victory.

Tennessee returns to action on Monday against Rutgers in the opening round of the Player’s Era Championship in Las Vegas.
