PORT WASHINGTON, Wis. (CBS 58) - People in Port Washington are looking to relocate pieces of their properties, ahead of a multi-billion-dollar data center expected to come to town .
David DeVooght owns the DeVooght House and Building Moving team, and is helping people move their sheds, barns, and homes out of the area the data center would be built.
“They’re really trying to get moving here so at the end if we can save a few more buildings, you know it would be nice,” DeVooght said.
The moving crews install a steel structure into the building and pump it up with a hydraulic system.
Wheels are installed in the building, hooked up to a truck and then it can be transported.
“It’s a process to move a building and get the approvals where it has to go and coordinate it all,” DeVo
