That post or comment you saw on social media that made you mad - there's a good chance that it's not even real.
Social media bots, many powered by artificial intelligence, are playing a growing role in spreading political rhetoric, hate and falsehoods.
That's according to Sen. Katie Britt, R-Ala. and Shuye Feng, a cybersecurity expert and associate professor at the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
