Damian Hurley has slammed claims he has grown distant from his megastar mother Liz Hurley, amid her blossoming romance with country singer Billy Ray Cyrus.

The 23-year-old British actor and model took to Instagram on Thursday to directly address the chatter, using the moment to thank his "modern family", including the children of the late Shane Warne, for their "love and support."

"I've been in the public eye since the day I was born and I rarely comment on anything written about me or my family, but recent stories are so startlingly unture that I want to offer a little clarity," Hurley wrote on his Instagram Stories.
