Authorities in Latvia are making changes to their legal system to have a Coventry murder suspect extradited. Dolars Aleksanders is believed to have fled to his homeland after killing 12-year-old Keaton Slater.

In June 2024, Keaton had been walking home from Cardinal Newman Catholic School when he was struck by a 'speeding' BMW . He sustained catastrophic injuries and tragically died.

Police issued an image of Dolars Aleksanders, who was living in Coventry but originally from Latvia. Detectives launched a major manhunt shortly after Keaton was killed, but Aleksanders had already fled the UK.
