A man has been attacked by a gang wielding weapons in Solihull . Police in the region are investigating after the victim was taken to hospital with slash wounds following the beating in Shirley on Thursday (20 November).

A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: "We are appealing for witnesses after a man was attacked by a group of people in Shirley.

"We were called to reports of a man being attacked by a group of people with weapons in Longmore Road, Shirley, at around 6pm yesterday (Thursday).

"The man, in his 30s, suffered slash wounds. He was taken to hospital with injuries, which are thankfully not life threatening or life changing. An investigation has been launched to identify those involved, and enquiries are ongoing."
