A moving car suddenly caught fire and was completely destroyed on the Navunda flyover on Thursday afternoon.

The vehicle was travelling from Katkere in Kundapur towards Uppunda when the fire broke out. The driver, Nitesh (31), and a passenger, Chandu (73), managed to escape unharmed.

Thick smoke billowed across the flyover, prompting authorities to temporarily stop traffic on the highway. Firefighters from the Byndoor fire station arrived quickly and extinguished the blaze. A case has been registered at the Byndoor police station.
