Pauri : The human-wildlife conflicts in Uttarakhand have taken a strange turn when people are not living in fear of leopards and tigers but bear attacks. A bear attacked over 12 people and killed one in Pauri district, apart from many incidents of bear attacks this year.

In Uttarakhand’s Pauri district, bear attacks are becoming a serious problem. Bears, which usually stay hidden in forests during winter, are now roaming near villages all year round. This has created fear among villagers, especially in areas like Paithani Range, Thalisain, and Kaljikhaal.
