Troy’s second multiple-overtime basketball game in three days did not end as well as its first one.
Jordan Marsh’s off-balance 3-pointer at the buzzer gave USC a 107-106 victory in triple overtime at the Galen Center in Los Angeles on Thursday in a game that stretched past midnight Alabama time. Troy (4-3) beat San Diego State 108-107 in double overtime on Tuesday, the third of its four-game West Coast road trip.
On Thursday, Troy led by four points twice in the final two minutes of the third extra period, but could not hang on. After a 3-pointer by USC’s Chad Baker-Mazara with 1:29 left pulled the home team within one, Troy’s Jerrell Bellamy beat the shot clock with a 3-ball of his own to make it a 106-102 game with 59 seconds remaining.
