SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - Drought conditions in New England have improved compared to last year, thanks to recent beneficial rains.

While November's rainfall is below average, October's wet spell helped alleviate some of the dry conditions across the region.
Meteorologist Chris Bouzakis noted, "So far for the month we got a little over 1.3 inches of rain for the month usually November's average when all is said and done is right around 3.7 inches."
Right now river levels are right about where they should be for this time of year. The Connecticut River in Springfield is up quite a bit from where it was earlier this fall.
