TOWN OF POUGHKEEPSIE – A person was killed on Thursday evening on Creek Road in the Town of Poughkeepsie, near SUNY Dutchess/Dutchess Community College. The rollover car accident occurred at approximately 9:20 p.m. just north of Cottage Road on Creek Road.

Town of Poughkeepsie Police and members of the Fairview Fire Department responded to the scene and determined that a person was trapped underneath the overturned vehicle. The Roosevelt Fire Department was requested to the scene with special airbags designed to aid in the rescue of people who become trapped under large and/or heavy obstacles, such as a vehicle.

Emergency personnel determined the victim had succumbed to their injuries at the scene.
