Former Aberdeen winger Niall McGinn was left beaming after seeing five of his Pittodrie pals end Scotland's 27-year wait to book their place at a World Cup.

Tuesday night's epic victory over Denmark was a truly special occasion as Steve Clarke's men pulled off a sensational triumph with some of the country's best ever goals.

And McGinn has singled out one of the quintet as his unsung 'hero' of the day at Hampden , praising his strength when facing a world class striker in Rasmus Hojlund.
