A woman has been jailed for 26 months after robbing a taxi driver at knifepoint. The cabbie's terrifying ordeal happened in Manse Street, Coatbridge, on September 9 last year.

Mark Doyle, 36, of Coatbridge , and Jamie Lee Black, 30, of Glasgow, admitted assaulting the male driver and robbing him of cash and his car keys. Kevin Morrow, prosecuting, said a caller using Doyle's mobile phone booked a taxi shortly after 1am.

A Skoda was despatched to Langloan Street, Coatbridge, where he and Black were staying at the time. Mr Morrow told Airdrie Sheriff Court: "The accused got into the rear of the vehicle. The driver agreed to go to Manse Street to pick up a friend, reports LanarkshireLive.
