MONTGOMERY —The Barr-Reeve Vikings boys basketball team will now start the season with just its third coach since 1993. The change came when former coach Josh Thompson left Barr-Reeve for rival Loogootee in the spring and he will be replaced by successful Evansville Memorial coach Heath Howington.
Howington, the former sectional winning Memorial coach, is 154-157 in his time at North Posey and EVM, included 18 wins in his last two seasons and has a reputation for forging teams that can play with anyone. Coach Howington sees similarities to the attitude kids have at Barr-Reeve and his former team at Memorial.
