After playing his first game at Madison Square Garden, an amped-up Cam Ward had a few things to say.
The Michigan State freshman forward, who had eight points and four rebounds in a Champions Classic win against Kentucky on Tuesday night , talked about how the team accomplished its goal of punking the Wildcats physically. Then he grabbed his gear along with a full pizza heading out of the locker room before getting a hug from athletic director J Batt.
It was a good night for the Spartans in New York and that spilled into the wee hours Wednesday with the team returning home about 1:30 a.m.
