CAIRO, Ga. (WALB) - Two people were arrested in Cairo for possessing drugs with the intent to distribute them, the Grady County Sheriff’s Office (GCSO) announced on Tuesday, Nov. 11.
The pair is Mark Rutledge, 39, and Brianna Burton, 22.
GCSO said that Rutledge and Burton were spotted by GCSO deputies in the parking lot of a Valero gas station. The deputies knew that Rutledge and Burton each had active warrants from multiple counties, including Grady County.
Rutledge and Burton were taken into custody due to their active warrants, GCSO said. Then, a K-9 unit reportedly found that there were narcotics in their vehicle at the Valero.
