OMAHA, Neb. —

Nebraska for Us and YouTurn Omaha are working together to help provide Thanksgiving meals to the community.

"We've been hearing a lot about how much higher food costs have risen. And so when we're talking about big purchases like turkeys and making sure that we have enough food on the table to feed a family, and sometimes it's an extended family that's coming. And so we're feeding more people on those holidays," said Angie Lauritsen.

"In our community, our target area where we focus on, really is a specific area which encompasses some of the most impoverished areas in the city of Omaha. Our focus is really on making sure that the participants that are in our program have the ability to have a really good Thanksgiving," said Teresa Negron.
