Travellers heading to and from Birmingham during the festive period are set to be hit by a series of strike days by rail union members.
Members of RMT (the National Union of Rail, Maritime and Transport Workers) are set to take four days of strike action in the run up to Christmas , disrupting travellers’ plans to and from Birmingham New Street and International stations, as well as Wolverhampton.
The union has said CrossCountry has ‘failed to resolve long-running issues on pay, staffing and previously agreed commitments’.
It says it has ‘tried repeatedly for months to reach a negotiated settlement’.
The union said: “Regretfully, the company has failed to honour agreements on overtime payments, staff resourcing and wage discrepancies for different grades.”
