A Coventry pub is set to reopen after undergoing its first major refurbishment in over 40 years. The Wheel on Sewell Highway closed earlier this month so work could be completed.

It will welcome customers once again from 8.30pm tonight (21 November) with a few special offers. The Stonegate-owned pub has opened up its backroom, adding an area with a pool table and darts, and some new screens to enhance its offering as a sports-led establishment.

"The pub hasn’t really been touched in about 40 years, apart from some paint," landlord Stuart Forbes told CoventryLive. "We worked with Stonegate to come up with a design that modernises the place, gives it a new lease of life, and changes the functionality of the building."
