CINCINNATI (WXIX) - A Hamilton County corrections officer is under arrest and accused of striking an inmate with his belt, court records show.

Jordan Anderson, 26, faces one count of misdemeanor assault on an inmate.

He was booked into the very jail where he works at 6:06 p.m. Thursday.

Anderson is being held without bond until he appears before a judge Friday.

“While acting as a corrections officer...Anderson removed his county-issued uniform belt and struck (the inmate) two times in the lower back/buttock region,” a Hamilton County sheriff’s detective wrote in an affidavit.

The court record alleges it happened Wednesday at the county jail on Sycamore Street in downtown Cincinnati.
