GRANT PARISH, La. (KALB) - Two men from Texas have been arrested for trying to smuggle drugs and cellphones into the Federal Prison, according to the Grant Parish Sheriff’s Office.

GPSO said one of the suspects was identified as a member of Paisas, a Mexican national prison and street gang, and the other was in the country illegally.

Jose Alberto Castillo, 24, of Donna, Texas, was arrested for criminal street gangs and patterns of criminal gang activity, criminal conspiracy, littering and attempting to take contraband into a penal institution.

Juan Carlos-Salazar Aguilar, 24, of Edinburg, Texas, was arrested for criminal conspiracy, attempting to take contraband into a penal institution and littering.

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has a detainer on Aguilar.
