BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - Baton Rouge (WAFB) - On Friday, the Louisiana State University Board of Supervisors discussed former LSU head coach Brian Kelly’s contract.

After a brief executive session, the Board voted to review, and if appropriate, send Brian Kelly a written notice of termination.

LSU Athletics announced their head football coach was let go on Oct. 26th - a day after a 49-25 loss to Texas A&M.

Kelly’s attorneys filed a lawsuit in the 19th JDC claiming the university failed to pay him contractually required damages following his termination.

Furthermore, the lawsuit states that LSU “repeatedly confirmed” that Kelly’s firing was not for cause. LSU claims that it fired Kelly for cause, rather than for the team’s performance.
