1BROOKLYN, NY – An off-duty NYPD school crossing guard was arrested Thursday afternoon in Brooklyn after an alleged threatening incident.

Officials said the arrest took place around 3:33 p.m. within the 60th Precinct.

The individual, identified as 32-year-old Abdussabur Ali, was charged with menacing.

Police did not release information about the nature of the threat or whether any weapon was involved.

The NYPD confirmed Ali’s arrest and stated that an internal review has been initiated.

Crossing guard under investigation

Ali, who serves as a school crossing guard in the department’s traffic division, was taken into custody without resistance, according to preliminary reports.

Department officials said administrative action would follow pending the results of the criminal proceeding
