A new report headed to council on Monday provides a little more clarity on the timing of the development of Stratford’s Grand Trunk site.
While the project seem to be moving forward, it’s still unclear when shovels will actually be in the ground to begin work on this community hub.
With expressions of interest set for a June 2026 release, the planned development on the site may not begin next year, despite Mayor Martin Ritsma earlier expressing confidence that some work could potentially begin by the end of 2025 or early in 2026.
Emily Robson, the city’s corporate initiatives lead, and CAO André Morin are set to present council with an outline of the next steps for development, which includes the release of several studies and reports slated for next year.
