YOUNGSTOWN - Youngstown Mayor-Elect Derrick McDowell has pushed back his announcement of key city department heads to next week, according to a press release from McDowell.

Those selections were originally scheduled to be announced Friday November 21 but McDowell says the efforts remain a "work in progress." Under the new timeline, the mayor-elect says he will release his decisions on Law Director, Finance Director and Chief of Staff by November 25. Phase 2 of his selections, including Youngstown's fire and police chiefs are set to be announced by December 12.

McDowell cited the "intricacies of the selection process" as the reason for the delay and added he plans to work simultaneously on both decision phases.
