An active police incident has shut down a major stretch of a Lancaster neighborhood, authorities announced.

Lancaster City Police said the 400 block of South Ann Street is closed to all vehicles and pedestrians due to ongoing activity at the scene on Friday, Nov. 21, at 2:52 p.m.

Officers urged the public to avoid the area as the situation continues, noting that both road and foot traffic are blocked indefinitely until further notice, according to the release shared at 3:56 p.m.

No details about the nature of the incident have been released.

A follow-up will be posted when the situation changes, police said.
