PITTSBURGH -- Pittsburgh Steelers defensive lineman Cam Heyward is expected to play against the Chicago Bears despite wearing a walking boot in the locker room on Friday, sources told PennLive. Heyward was a limited participate in practice on Friday and seemingly dinged his ankle in practice. He is questionable, but a source described it as ‘precautionary.'
Heyward did not practice on Wednesday and Thursday, but was listed as a veteran having rest throughout the week. He has commonly missed practices due to wear and tear, but he usually ends up practicing later in the week for at least one day.
The Steelers will continue to monitor his ankle on Saturday to make sure all goes well, but the standout defensive tackle and defensive captain is expected to play.
