ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) — Cobb County residents will see their stormwater fees jump to $4.75 after county commissioners voted 3-2 Thursday night to approve the hike in hopes of tackling aging infrastructure.
The fees are expected to nearly double the stormwater division’s budget, yet many Cobb County residents aren’t happy about it. There was strong opposition during the public comment section of Thursday night’s meeting. It took several hours for everyone to voice their opinions against the fee.
“I think that the citizens have made it really clear how they feel about it. And I think that we’re just getting a lot of nods from a lot of the commissioners,” said Christine Rozman.
